BikalpabikashThe history of BIKALPA BIKASH-ORISSA dates back to 1990 when inspired by the history that YOUTH who constitute a vast inexustible reservoir of human resources to whom father of the nation called as futures of tomorrow and salt of the nation only could dare to initiate remarkable change in society,a group of committed youth hailing from different communities joined their resourceful hands in an auspicious day i.e. 1st January,1990 under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Mr. Santosh Kumar Dash and took oath under the banner Utkal Gramaseva Yuvak Sangha(UGYS).Thus an Organisation took birth and has duly been registered on 22nd Jan,1991.
Subsequently, keeping in view to match the broad objectives of the Organisation in changing situation the leadership felt the change of name of the Organisation as BIKALPA BIKASH-ORISSA.
Since inception the organization has been working with its’ noble objectives of socio- economic,health,education, political and cultural upliftment and facilitating the process to empower the lower strata for social security ,sustainable livelihoods and all round growth/development as an alternative catalyst.
BIKALPA BIKASH-ORISSA visualizes a free classless and non-exploitative society where all people live in peace and fraternity and growth with justice.It also visualizes to create an appropriate environment to develop the fullest potential of the rural poor,women,marginalized and under-priviledged and to have equal opportunity for involvement in the development process
The Organisation actively supporting and facilitating for community involvement and community action in a more systematic way through awareness generation,education,training,support service,peoples’ organization and mass action.
To educate,make aware and organize the backward and neglected SC.ST,Miinorities,Women,Marginalised farmers and landless workers of the society for their socio-economic,health,education and cultural upliftment through peoples’ participation and provide them sustainable livelihood by making them self sufficient in order to create a value based, self reliant and peaceful world.
‘HIV/AIDS’ is not only a health issue,but a social issue also which creating panic in everyone’s mind.Thus, the Organisation has been involved in HIV/AIDS awareness
The organization has developed nursery consisting of Bamboo,Teak, Sishu, Gambhar ,fruit bearing and Medicinal at Durgapur ,Chhendipada Block of Angul District .
‘BBO’ is empowering the un-organized rural women mass through the self help groups In order to materialize the plan BBO formed and strengthed 762 .no.of Women SHGs
